Quality Meat Scotland Bursaries

Meat Catriona Morrison (Scottish triathlete) and Jock of Lyntoun (the fine looking chap on the right) who teamed up recently to launch a bursary scheme run by Quality Meat Scotland.  Bursaries of up to £500 will be awarded to individuals or teams, and the scheme will run through 2012, 2013 and 2014.  The funding covers a range of activities, all ages and abilities and can be used for anything from equipment to travel, training and competition expenses.

QMS has been working with sportscotland to develop the programme, which will run alongside the range of activities QMS already undertakes to encourage awareness of the importance of good nutrition and a healthy diet and lifestyle.

The deadline for applications in this round is the 24th February.

Cashback For Communities

There has been a recent announcement that an additional £1.65m facilities fund will be set up for grass roots clubs and groups via the Cashback for Communities programme. It’s to be administered by sportscotland however details of how it’ll be distributed are not yet available…we’ll post more news as it comes in.  Meanwhile, see more at:

Cash 4 Clubs (UK)

Sports clubs that are registered with their sport’s National Governing Body or local authority can apply for grants of up to £1,000 through the Cash 4 Clubs grants scheme. Cash 4 Clubs is a sports funding scheme which gives clubs a unique chance to apply for grants to improve facilities, purchase new equipment, gain coaching qualifications, and generally invest in the sustainability of their club. In 2008 over £30,000 was given out in grants to 30 community sports clubs across the UK. There are three tiers of grants at £250, £500 and £1,000. Previous grants have been awarded to the Southampton Canoe club which received a grant of £1,000 towards purchasing junior paddles and safety equipment; the Rugby Sea Cadets which received a grant of £1,000 to maintain and replace safety equipment; and Ipswich Basketball which received a grant of £1,000 to initiate a new women’s team aimed at the 16+ league. Applications can be submitted at any time and grants are awarded on a quarterly basis.

Awards for All Scotland puts lottery money back into local communities by giving grants of between £500 and £10,000. We fund projects that improve opportunities for people to take part in arts, sport and community activities and can fund a wide range of organisations.

The aim of the Highland LEADER Programme is:

‘To enable people in the Highlands to realise their ambitions to live in communities where they can fulfil their personal, social and       economic potential’. The programme was formally launched on the 11th December 2008 and is now open for applications.

2014 Communities is a Scotland micro-grant programme which is focussed on building a legacy of well-being before and beyond the Commonwealth Games. Voluntary and community sector organisations, community councils and schools can apply for up to £1,000 to encourage more peoples to take part or volunteer in sport or physical activity.

Investing in Ideas makes up to £10,000 available to organisations in Scotland to help develop their ideas into fully fledged projects. www.biglotteryfund.org

 

 

SPORTSMATCH is an award scheme that supports grass roots sport projects that encourage participation at community level, especially youth groups. In Scotland, SPORTSMATCH is funded by the Scottish Government and administered by sportscotland.

SPORTSMATCH aims to match commercial business sponsorship on a £ for £ basis and has three primary objectives:

  1. to encourage businesses to sponsor community sports
  2. to foster lasting partnerships between business and community sport
  3. to further develop and improve community access to sport through quality business sponsorships
